About Thaddeus Furlong
Thaddeus Furlong commands almost two decades of diverse courtroom experience. A former law enforcement and military officer, Mr. Furlong possesses seasoned acumen across an array of legal realms and has successfully defended clients against charges of shoplifting, drug-related crimes, DWIs, and traffic violations, as well as a variety of other misdemeanor and felony offenses. Thaddeus Furlong joined Stone Furlong Drewniak, PLLC, in 2010, where he continues to serve as an attorney and Partner. Stone Furlong Drewniak operates as a multi-office Virginia-based legal firm covering the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Area, the state of Virginia, the military court system, and the U.S. federal courts.
Thaddeus Furlong maintains a spectrum of professional honors. A member of the Federal Bar Association, the Fairfax County Bar Association, and the Arlington County Bar Association, Mr. Furlong maintains bar admissions with the Virginia Supreme Court; the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit; the Virginia State Bar; the U.S. Bankruptcy Court; the U.S. District Court, Western District, Virginia; and U.S. District Court, Eastern District, Virginia. Thaddeus Furlong also belongs to the American Association of University Professors, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Associations, the Virginia Coalition of Police Officers, the Georgetown Law Alumni Association, and the Phi Theta Kappa international honor society.
Thaddeus Furlong holds a Juris Doctor through the Georgetown University Law Center, having graduated from the Washington, D.C., school ahead of schedule. Prior to entering Georgetown University, Mr. Furlong earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the California State University, Los Angeles. He also attended The University of Houston in Texas, and ranked first in his class at both the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office Academy and the Fairfax County Police Academy. In addition to his present responsibilities with Stone Furlong Drewniak, Thaddeus Furlong also serves in a number of instructional capacities. Mr. Furlong currently works as an adjunct professor of law and police science, teaches consumer and criminal law, and acts as an Adjunct Instructor with the FBI Academy.
